3 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
4 “What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?”
5 Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. 6 Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. 7 So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.”
Nicodemus believed Jesus was sent by God. I love how he says that the miraculous signs were evidence that God was with Jesus.
I think a lot of us could relate to Nicodemus. You are probably seeking God and truth is you are reading this. Nicodemus found Jesus after dark one night to ask him questions because he was looking for answers.
Jesus said to him in verse 10 “You are a respected Jewish teacher, and yet you don’t understand these things?
Can we just admit that we don't know everything yet? We don't. But may we hunger enough to go the distance and seek answers from Jesus.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.
Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Transformation is vital to your life. If you are not growing than you are missing out. There is so much to gain from studying the life and teachings of Jesus.
The evangelist Billy Graham was known to read the Bible from cover to cover once a year. But he would read the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John every week. I agree with this approach. The teachings of Jesus will help you to renew yourself.
Jesus said, “Blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.” Luke 11:28
Jeremiah 17:5-8 This is what the Lord says:
“Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord.
They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future.
They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land.
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
Do you put your trust in humans?
I love people but I do not put my trust in them. Instead I love them unconditionally. Fully knowing that they are imperfect and will let me down. Life is so much better when you learn to love people as God wants us to love them. Not loving others to get something for ourselves. So reflect on this. If this is an issue for you than identify it.
You can’t conquer what you don’t confront, and you cannot confront what you do not identify.
•Thoughts become words.
•Words become actions.
•Actions become habits.
•Habits become character.
•Character becomes destiny.
John 3:16-17 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
Ask God for His forgiveness and for His help. Begin your renewal process today.
Much Love, Pastor Max Marcoux
