The Full 40 came to me when I was reading when Jesus was tempted in Matthew chapter 4. Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. 2 For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry. 3 During that time the devil came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Join me for 40 days of bettering yourself while seeking a fresh vision for your life. It is time to R.E.N.E.W. your strength.
Here are the 5 things we will be focussed on:
Rest - Aim to get more than enough sleep. If you need 8 hours of sleep, aim to get 8.5 - 9 hours over the course of the 40 days.
Exercise - Today there are more options than ever. The key is to exercise for 30 minutes 5 times a week.
Nutrition - We are what we eat. What I have chosen to do is to eat vegetables, a little meat and a little fruit but no sugar, dairy, bread, pasta, rice etc. I give myself one meal during the week to eat whatever I want. Sunday is a free day.
Eat whatever you want but don't go crazy.
Education - Read the Bible. Ten minutes or more each day. Jesus is our example. When the devil tempted Him, Jesus used the Word of God to answer him. We should be able to do the same.
Wellness - I have seen a lot of good people do the things I have listed above and still not enjoy life. Find a hobby or something that fills your emotional tank. For me I play guitar. Not well. But I love playing guitar. I also have a motorcycle that I enjoy going for rides through the country roads. Find your hobby.
