Who can come to Maker Fun Factory VBS?
All children ages 2.9 - Grade 5. Pre-School age children will participate as one large group with more age-appropriate activities and learning. K-5th graders will participate in mixed-age groups as they navigate through all the different adventures of the day.
When is VBS?
Monday through Friday. July 10th - 14th, 2017.
What is the time frame?
Our program kicks off every morning at 9:00 a.m. and kids must be picked up at 12:00 p.m. Arriving 5-10 minutes early each day is encouraged to allow for registration time, bathroom stops, and so that kids don't miss the opening program each day, which is HUGE fun!
What will kids do at VBS?
Each day at Maker Fun Factory kids will have a blast exploring God's word and learning about His love for them through 7 different stations. Sound Wave Sing & Play, Bible Discovery, Game Makers, Snack Factory, KidVid Cinema, Imagination Station, & Funshop Finale.
What is the main message of the teaching at VBS?
Children will learn a Bible Point & Bible Verse each day that reinforce the main theme of this years VBS, that we are CREATED BY GOD, & BUILT FOR A PURPOSE. This years Bible Points are: God made you. God is for you. God is always with you. God will always love you. And God made you for a reason. Together we will dig into some great bible stories that support this teaching and watch your children's understanding of God grow.
How are children kept organized and safe?
Great question. Children will be assigned to a small group, which we call CREWS, and there will be an adult or teen leader responsible for up to 5 kids in that group. Crews will have the same leader each day so kids will develop a relationship with that leader and grow close throughout the week. All of our volunteers are CORI checked and attend necessary training and meetings prior to VBS in order to best care for children. We also have individuals who will act as security around church exit's and the outdoor areas we use, especially during class transition times.
Can parents hang out during VBS?
We would love to get to know you so you are more than welcome to stay and visit. We will give you a nametag so that all volunteers know that you are known and we'd ask that you stay in the main spaces and enjoy a cup of coffee.
How are emergencies handled?
Luckily, we've never had any real emergencies. We have evacuation plans for all church events, in case of emergency. We have first-aid stations on site for any small scrapes or bumps in need of an ice pack or bandaid. You will receive an Incident Report Form is your child needed any type of medical care (even a bandaid). We will keep you contact information on file to contact you quickly if need be. You will always be called if any other emergency protocol is taken.
