When is Rocky railway VBS?
Monday through Friday. July 13th - 17th, 2020.
What is the time frame?
Our program kicks off every morning at 9:00 A.M. and kids must be picked up at 12:00 P.M. Arriving 5-10 minutes early each day is encouraged to allow for registration time, bathroom stops, and so that kids don't miss the opening program each day, which is HUGE fun!

Each day at Rocky Railway VBS kids will have a blast exploring God's word and learning about His love for them through 7 different stations. Sing & Play Express, Imagination Station, Loco Motion Games, Chew Chew Snacks, KidVid Cinema, Wild Bible Adventures & Rocky Wrap-Up.
What is the main message of the teaching at Rocky railway VBS?
Children will learn a Bible Point & Verse each day that reinforces the theme that Jesus' Power Pulls Us Through. This year's Bible Points include:
- Jesus' Power helps us do hard things
- Jesus' Power gives us hope
- Jesus' Power helps us be bold
- Jesus' Power lets us live forever
- Jesus' Power helps us be good friends
How are children kept organized and safe?
Children will be assigned to a small group, which we call crews, and there will be an adult or teen leader responsible for up to 5 children in that group. Crews will have the same leader each day so kids will develop a relationship with that leader and grow close throughout the week. All of our volunteers are CORI checked and attend necessary training and meetings prior to VBS in order to best care for children. We also have individuals who will act as security around church exits and the outdoor areas we use, especially during class transition times.
Can parents hang out during VBS?
Yes! We would love to get to know you so you are more than welcome to stay and visit. We will give you a name tag so that all volunteers know that you are known and we'd ask that you stay in the main spaces and enjoy a cup of coffee.
How are emergencies handled?
Luckily, we've never had any real emergencies. We have evacuation plans for all church events, in case of emergency. We have first-aid stations on site for any small scrapes or bumps in need of an ice pack or bandaid. You will receive an Incident Report Form if your child needed any type of medical care (even a bandaid). We will keep you contact information on file to contact you quickly if need be. You will always be called if any other emergency protocol is taken.
