Elevation Chapel's Core Beliefs
Elevation is a community of both believers and people who searching for meaning and purpose in life through God. The sermons on Sunday morning are based on Biblical truth, while maintaining relevance to the world we live in today. If you are new to the area or trying to find out more about God and yourself, we hope you will visit Elevation Chapel.
Our beliefs are supported by the scriptures in the Bible. Jesus said in Mark chapter 12:29, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. 30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ 31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
Our church is a loving church. We believe what is needed around the world is more of a Mark 12 attitude. We love God and believe that by reading the scriptures and praying, we can grow and maintain a life-sustaining relationship with God. Together we encourage one another in our spiritual lives.

God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. God exists in three equal, omnipotent persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, Psalm 90:2 Matthew 28:19, II Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings. (Matthew 1:22-23, John 14:10-30, Hebrews 4:14-15, I Corinthians 15:3-4, Acts 1:9-11)
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He exists to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power, understanding, and guidance. He serves to connect us to God through a personal relationship in a physical, spiritual way. (II Corinthians 3:17,John 16:13 & 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, I Corinthians 2:12-14 & 3:16)
Man
Man is made in the image of God. However, all mankind is sinful by nature, and has fallen short of God’s plan for them. It is through Christ’s death on the cross and his resurrection that we are able to be saved. (Genesis 1:27, Romans 3:23)
Eternity
The spirit of Man was created to exist forever, either eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God, through forgiveness and salvation. Eternal separation from God leads us to a life bound in hell. To be eternally united with God is the prize of salvation to spend eternity in Heaven. (John 3:16, I John 5:11-13Romans 6:23 Revelation 20:13-15)
Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by good works. Only by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior and asking God’s forgiveness can man be saved from sin's penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. (Romans 6:23 Ephesians 2:8-9 John 14:6, Galatians 3:26, Romans 5:1)
The Bible
The Bible is God's Holy Word. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. (II Timothy 3:16-17, Psalm 119:160, Proverbs 30:5)
