A History: Founding of Elevation Chapel
The Christian Pentecostal Church was founded in 1971 by a group of Italian Immigrants led by Rev. Nicola Cavallo, Rev. Martino DiBenedetto, Rev. Mario Chisari, Joseph Pancaldo, Antonino and Teresa Passamonte and Frank Fodera. In 1975 by the grace of God, they constructed what is now our place of worship at 150 Lowell Avenue in Newton. It was built through the sweat and perseverance of all of its members desiring to create a perpetual house of prayer and worship for all nations.
The older Italian group is a major part of the church led by Rev. Mario Chisari.
We are so thankful for the wisdom and love he shares with all of us.
Today Elevation is led by Pastors Max & DD Marcoux along with a loving team of talented people. Sunday services are at 10:30 and average 110 people. The first half of service is a nice mix of contemporary and traditional praise and worship music. The sermons are uplifting and bring the truth in God's Word to life for practical day to day application.
Pastor Max and DD have been pastoring for 20 years. They were the youth pastors at Wellesley Park Assembly of God (Renamed Celebration International Church) in Wayland Ma. where they met. They have been married for 18 years and have 4 children.
In 2007 they started Elevation as a non-denominational church and rented space for 4 years until they merged with the Italian Pentecostal Church in Newton in 2011. The two group became one and since then the church has grown healthy and strong.
