We've had the joy and privilege of attending and serving at Elevation Chapel for several years now and can honestly say that Elevation Chapel is a community of warm, genuine, and loving people that love God, love His Word, love people, and challenge and encourage each other to apply and live out the truths found in Scripture. We love all the ways you can connect with people (worship nights, work out nights, celebrations, small groups, youth group, connecting point, etc) and we've made so many lasting friendships in our time here. Pastor Max does an incredible job in taking truths from scripture and making them incredibly relevant to people today. This is truly a place where we can see the effects of God moving.
I believe the more we go through this experience of life,( the ups and downs, the internal and private struggles, as well as the unexpected and unwelcomed situations and circumstances) if we are honest with ourselves, we all come to the realization that people aren't perfect, most of all ourselves!
When I put my trust in Jesus, I am putting my trust in someone who is perfect. Perfectly dependable, perfectly loving, perfectly and absolutely trustworthy. The Bible describes him as the Rock. And when the fearful winds waves of life come, if we choose to put our faith (Trust) in Jesus, who is God himself, we will be unmoved by them, just like he is unmoved! As we grow in relationship with Jesus he transforms, protects, and guides us through EVERY aspect of our lives! God is love, and He created us, He knows us better then we will ever know ourselves, and sent His son to give us life, and life more ABUNDANTLY! Elevation Chapel is a place where the Love and Power of God is celebrated, where you are a part of a family, and where you can expect to grow into the person you were created to be, and be empowered to help others do the same! - Nick |
I grew up in Italy and I attended graduate school at Boston University. With an MED degree specialized field teaching Romance Lnaguages, I began a career teaching Latin, French, and Spanish at the high school level. Raised in a Catholic household, ever since I can remember I was eager to know God and His will for my life. I attended church regularly and participated in many retreats at the Cenacle in Torino Italy and in Boston. Bringing up three daughters as a widow, I searched for a church where the love of God would be revealed by people encouraging one another to live out the truths found in Scripture. I found a Congregational church with a partnership with a small village in Guatemala. My knowledge of Spanish inspired me to attend two mission trips to Guatemala with a delegation from that church. To this day I correspond with a family that I met as a head of the educational componet of those mission trips. God has blessed me with three wonderful "sons" and five precious grandchildren.
One of my daughters became born again Christian while in college and she inspired me to follow her example. Six months ago that same daughter invited me to Elevation Chapel. I was instantly captured by the kindness, warmth, and authenticity of its members. Pastor Max and his wife DD are deeply caring. Pastor Max has an amazing ability every week to convey the message from Scripture in a conversational style that keeps me inspired and energized to love God with all my heart. I can say that I I have found a spiritual home at last. |
