Tuesday (tomorrow) September 7th - Thursday the September 16th is The Ten Day Quest. Here is why: #1. Understand God More. #2. Challenge Yourself. #3. Feel Better. Here is how: #1. Choose a Bible Study Plan. # 2. Make a Prayer Schedule. # 3. Decide on What to Give Up. This is my plan and you are welcome to follow this or create your own. #1. Bible Study Plan will be to read The Book of Daniel. - It is 12 chapters long so a chapter or two a day. - Underline, highlight things that stick out to you. #2. Pray 3 times a day like Daniel did. - Before I leave the house. - After I am done with work. - Before I go to sleep. (As you pray, meditate on what you read in the Bible. Ask God to show you more about life through the scriptures.) 3. Eat only vegetables and a little bit of fruit. - Salad for breakfast. Sure, why not. How about a banana or an apple with almond butter or a grapefruit. Personally I skip breakfast and don't eat until about 1:30. I drink coffee with almond milk. No dairy or sugar. For lunch I have a green smoothie that has spinach, kale, flax seed, chia seed, coconut, half of an avocado and some almond milk. For dinner I have a salad. Fresh greens, Olives, mushrooms, avocado, cucumbers, sprouts and some olive oil and vinegar make for a good meal. Dried figs are my go to when I am in need of an easy to carry snack at work. (only 2 - 4 a day.) I aim to eat 80% vegetables and no more than 20% fruit. Cooked or Raw? Raw has major benefits but it is much harder. If you are not going raw than sweet potatoes, steamed broccoli and carrots as an example would be great. Why? And what about protein? Most people take better care of their car than they do their body. Taking a break from sugar, meat, dairy and grains will clean your body out and give it a break. Spiritually it is a great way to focus. When you say no to the foods you crave, you are exercising self control. Last but not least - Most of the world does not have what we have. This is a time to be grateful for what we have and pray for those in need. Protein? What is the animal I fear the most? Silverback Gorilla.
Gorilla strength is estimated to be about 10 times their body weight. Fully grown silverbacks are stronger than 20 adult humans combined. What do they eat? The answer - Plants. I love meat. I also love pancakes and ice cream. When I set a challenge before myself it is not easy, but it feels so good to accomplish a challenge and reap the benefits. For You: Choose a plan that you know you can follow for 10 days. Starts Tuesday at sunrise. I am happy to help. Let me know if you have any questions. Love, Pastor Max P.S. Part 1. Joy in FellowshipYou may have lots of friends but being a part of a fellowship is something extra special to me. Our church is a fellowship. People from different backgrounds uniting to one vision and working together to live our lives in such a way that together that vision is making a difference in each of our lives. Our vision is to model our lifestyle after that of Jesus. Care about what He cared about and treat people with the kind of compassion and love that He showed. God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 11 Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. When you decide to become an active member of your local church that church becomes more blessed than it was before. You have a beautiful God given gift that can help with the fellowship. Two things happen. You find Joy in Fellowship and second, you help others. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen. Stay tuned for the next 4 parts of Vision.

We spent a good deal of the church’s efforts and resources over the past year helping people who were food insecure. For those of you who donated or supported this effort in any way, I thank you. I am proud of the generosity and care our church has shown. If you are inclined to help continue this effort, I have included a donation envelope in this mailing. I am hoping we can refill our coffers so that we can continue to provide help to those in need. I also hope that we can soon all be safely together again in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings. For now, let’s encourage one another the best we can. We exist to see people elevated and transformed by the love of Jesus. God is developing each of us as we grow and I hope we can be used by Him to encourage others. Please reach out if you need anything. Love, Pastor Max
She recently came up with the brilliant idea to start a music school here at the church to teach kids how to play piano, drums, bass, guitar and sing. The first semester started on February 5th with 12 amazing young people. (Someone else we know started something big with 12 students! This could be big!)
New Post Office Box The church has a new mailing address. We have been experiencing some delays in receiving our mail in Newton, and want to make sure our mailbox contents are secure. We now have a new post office box. The address is Elevation Chapel P.O. Box 812778 Wellesley, MA 02482-0024 Events
