A Few Words from Pastor Max

Welcome to the first issue of The Good News. I plan to use this newsletter as a way to keep you updated on all of the good things that go on at Elevation Chapel. First, I’d like to thank everyone in our church community for your support over the last year. The pandemic has hit everyone hard, and our church is no exception.
We spent a good deal of the church’s efforts and resources over the past year helping people who were food insecure. For those of you who donated or supported this effort in any way, I thank you. I am proud of the generosity and care our church has shown.

If you are inclined to help continue this effort, I have included a donation envelope in this mailing. I am hoping we can refill our coffers so that we can continue to provide help to those in need. I also hope that we can soon all be safely together again in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings. For now, let’s encourage one another the best we can. We exist to see people elevated and transformed by the love of Jesus. God is developing each of us as we grow and I hope we can be used by Him to encourage others. Please reach out if you need anything.
Love,
Pastor Max

NEWS
We are happy to welcome Sarah Jibrin, who has been a part of the Elevation team since its inception, as a paid staff member. She most recently served as treasurer, and will now run the children’s ministry. Sarah grew up in Newton, lived in Africa and moved back to Newton with her husband Michael and continued to make Elevation better.
She recently came up with the brilliant idea to start a music school here at the church to teach kids how to play piano, drums, bass, guitar and sing. The first semester started on February 5th with 12 amazing young people. (Someone else we know started something big with 12 students! This could be big!)

When Sarah took over the children’s ministry, she passed the role of church treasurer to Cheryl Marconi. Cheryl has a background in finance and communications, and plans to streamline the church finances as well as communicate a clear picture of where the church stands financially. She will be a great asset to our leadership team.

New Post Office Box
The church has a new mailing address. We have been experiencing some delays in receiving our mail in Newton, and want to make sure our mailbox contents are secure. We now have a new post office box. The address is
